Description: Every Course or Co-curricular Section in AEFIS has a series of settings that Admins or faculty may update to customize items within the section. This guide provides instructions and descriptions of those settings, how to change them, and their impacts. Note that when settings are changed in the section, they are only changed in that individual section, and not across multiple sections, or future sections. If you would like to change settings for all sections, you will need to make the change at the Course/Co-Curricular Activity level.
Applicable to: Institution Admin, College Admin, Department Admin, Course Coordinator, Course Section Director, Instructor
Steps to access your Section Settings
1. Login to AEFIS
2. Click on the AEFIS Main Menu at the top left of the home screen
3. Navigate to the Educational Experience Menu and select Course Sections or Co-Curricular Sections
4. Use the Search, Filters or scroll to the section you would like to edit
5. Click Manage next to the section you would like to edit
6. Click Settings on the left Section menu
Settings Overview
Note: Some or all of the settings below may be locked, indicated by a red lock symbol which means the setting may not be changed in your section, as it is controlled at the Course, Department, College or Institution level. If you see this and you would like to make a change to a setting at a section level, please contact your institution's AEFIS Administrator.
Remember - hit SAVE after every section to save your choices!
Enable Course Evaluation Settings
- Enable Student Course Evaluation: When toggled off, this option allows you to exclude this section from student course evaluations.
- Enable Instructor Course Evaluation: When toggled off, this option allows you to exclude this section from instructor course evaluations.
Assessment by Program Settings
- This setting, when toggled off, will prevent assignment linking between this section and outcomes where that course/co-curricular activity is included in a program's curriculum map. Then, only CLO assessment will be available, if CLOs are available in the related course.
Assessment and Assignment Settings
- When toggled off, assessment results will only be included in reporting when all scores are are complete. That means if a student does not submit their work and they do not receive a score, the results will not be considered complete and included in reporting.
Course Syllabi Settings
- When toggled off, this setting prevents public access to the public section syllabus url that is automatically available in each section utilizing the syllabus solution. To find your public syllabus url, navigate to the Course Syllabus left menu area, and then click the EDIT button, and select public url.
Survey Settings
- Minimum Response Type: Set whether you want to allow the release of your section's evaluation results based upon the count of student completion results or percentage of results.
- Minimum Response to Show Results/Percent: Based on the previous setting, determine the number of student responses required to release the final evaluation results.
- Minimum Enrollment Count to Assign Survey: Set the threshold to allow a course evaluation to run on this section based on the number of students enrolled. If that threshold is not met, the course evaluation forms will not be delivered to students.
