After you have created assignments for your course, you can link those assignments to specific course learning outcomes (CLOs). Upon completion of these assignments, students will be assessed on the CLOs, to which the assignment are linked. This feature within AEFIS allows faculty to not only visualize which assignments assess which outcomes that are set on the course level; but also, faculty hold students accountable to complete and execute course-specific objectives.

Step 1: Click on the hamburger icon (three white horizontal lines) to open the AEFIS Main Menu
Step 2: Scroll down and Select Courses > Courses
Step 3: Use the + Add filter option and the search bar to locate your desired course, where you would like to link a course assignment to a CLO
Step 4: Click "Manage" under the "Actions" column of the corresponding course section
Step 5: Click "Assignment Linking" in the panel on the left-hand side underneath the "Assessment" section
Step 6: Scroll through the CLOs on the left-hand side and determine which CLOs, to which you would link assignment(s). Then press the blue pencil on the right-hand side of the corresponding CLO.
Step 7: A new pop-up window will appear, fill out the following information:
- If you have more than one assignment created for the course, use the check boxes to select which assignments to link to this particular outcome
- If you selected more than one assignments, use the "Weight" text box to input how much each assignment will weigh. The total weight of assignment should equal to 100%
- The scoring or weight meter in the right-hand corner will assist you to make sure that all assignments render a total weight of 100%
- Under the Total Score Rubric Settings,
- use the gears on the scale to shift each rubric value
- i.e. the threshold for Score 4/Master can be 85-100%; while, the range for Score 3/Proficient can be 55-84%
- use the gears on the scale to shift each rubric value
Step 8: Check the box, if you would like to use these set rubric values when linking new assignments to other CLOs.
Step 9: Press the blue "Save" button when you are finished

Helpful Tips:
Just note that all changes and edits that are made within the Assessment Schedule Settings, do not apply to the settings of the ongoing instance.
